The feeling we get when we learn that we are going to become parents, is something commonly acknowledged as impossible to describe with words! With that absolute feeling pouring thoughts down the brain, about how our baby is going to be, what will its gender be, its smile, its character and many other things. Then the really important things are the preparations so that everything is perfect and so on…

Before choosing the colors for the walls and the closets, we usually make choices that will affect our final decision:

• What kind of furniture we will have to purchase (cradle, changers, shelves etc.)
• What trend will those furniture follow (modern or classic and what color)
• How are the linen – blankets etc.
• How are the rest decorative parts of the building (courtains, carpets etc.)

After those choices we are ready to admire at the arena where our new fighter will enter, or at the castle of our new princess! How will the colors that will accompany our baby in its first quests be? They are basically its first stimulation!

The colors that will prevail in the room must be vivid since they serve as stimulation. We don’t have to avoid contrasting colors since they help every separate color to show all its unique characteristics. We do pay attention though that the colors intertwine harmonically with each other, but also with the rest of the colors that exist in the space. We also have to see into that the colors get along with the size and the brightness of the room, but also with its orientation. The color may have an effect on our actual sense of the space, and present it in a different way (bigger, smaller, taller, shorter), or even create a sense of warmth or cold. It is important to choose colors that help the baby to relax to calm down and enjoy a better quality in sleep.

The most important of all is to choose with quality, the best color that will welcome our newest family member – We always want the best form our child! There are many quality aspects in color but only a few of them are suitable for a baby’s room. The color must be:

• To be odorless, especially if we paint when the baby is already born or is going to be born in the immediate future
• To have permanent action against mold and humidity
• To be easily cleaned up and hard to stain!
• To be durable against frequent washing
• To be hypo allergic, so that the room will be suitable for babies with asthma and allergies
